Dr. Saami is a double board-certified cosmetic dermatologist specializing in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures and cosmetic surgery with specialized training in dermatologic surgery, facial plastics, and a deep scientific background in cutaneous immunology, clinical trials, and curricular development. He serves as a clinical investigator, consultant, trainer, and speaker for Allergan, Galderma, and Merz, amongst others. Dr. Saami received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins and completed his dermatology residency at Harvard before moving to San Diego to specialize in aesthetics. His basic and translational research focus is on cutaneous immunology, previously to minimize immunosuppression for hand and face transplants, and now with a focus on clinical trials for injectable fillers, toxins, and energy-based devices. He has a passion for adventure traveling and is an avid surfer and snowboarder!

Dr. Per Hedén was one of the driving forces in establishing microsurgery in Sweden. After completing his plastic surgery training in Sweden in 1982, he held a plastic surgery position in Australia, and subsequently pursued plastic surgery research in the United States, first in Springfield, Illinois, and later at Harvard University in Boston. His research led to his attaining an Associate Professorship at the Karolinska Institute in 1990, a position he still holds. He became the head of the microsurgery unit at Sabbatsbergs Hospital in 1990 and still has a devoted interest for microsurgical repair of facial paralysis and patients from all of Sweden are sent to Dr. Hedén for this kind of surgery. In 1991 he founded Akademikliniken together with Jan Jernbeck, which is now Northern Europe’s largest private plastic surgery hospital, with more than 60,000 procedures performed each year.

Over the years Dr Hedén has published more than 50 scientific papers, as well as multiple chapters in plastic surgery textbooks. Dr Hedén has written the patient information book: “ Plastic Surgery and You” published in Swedish 1996. It has since been translated and published in English and Russian, and has sold 10,000 copies in Sweden alone.
