Step by Step Skin Care Routine for Acne Prone Skin

Acne can affect your life in many ways. It can make you feel unattractive and self-conscious. It can also be painful, both physically and emotionally. Although there is no quick fix for acne, you can take steps to both prevent and treat it. This blog discusses some simple skin care tips that you can use every day to achieve blemish-free skin and how to use the best acne skin care kit in your daily routine.

Step 1. Cleanse Twice A Day.

To achieve the best results, you should cleanse your face twice a day. For each cleansing step, remember to use gentle products that won't irritate already sensitive skin. First, use a facial cleanser (like Foam Cleanser) to remove all dirt and makeup from the day, while using the Oscisonic Cleanser Head

Step 2. Exfoliate Once A Week

Exfoliation is an essential part of a skincare routine, especially for those with acne-prone skin. It helps to prevent blackheads and whiteheads, reduce the appearance of pores, even out your skin tone, and remove dead skin cells that can clog pores and cause breakouts.

Exfoliation is also key because it helps keep our cells healthy by removing the surface layer that blocks oxygen from penetrating deeper into our skin cells. If this top layer remains on the surface of your skin for too long without being removed, it will begin to act as a shield against hydration which can cause dullness or dryness in the lower layers of our epidermis (the outermost layer).

Here are some tips for exfoliating:

  • Exfoliate once every week - This will ensure that there isn't too much build up from exfoliating daily. Daily exfoliation can irritate sensitive areas like around the eyes or nose where there are more oil glands than anywhere else on your face so doing this too often could lead to redness or inflammation if you have sensitive skin types like me!

Step 3. Use a Toner

Toner is used after cleansing to remove any remaining dirt and bacteria from the skin. It also has a toning effect on your skin, which helps to calm it down. Toner prepares the skin for moisturizer by making sure that it isn't too dry or too oily before you apply it.

Step 4. Don't Skip Moisturizer

Moisturizer is also important and it is essential to get a moisturizer for acne prone skin.  Your moisturizer should be applied after cleansing and toning, in the same order that you apply face wash (more on this later). Moisturizing helps to prevent dry skin, which can lead to congestion and breakouts.

It's important to remember to apply moisturizer at night, as well as in the morning, so they have time to sink into your skin while you're sleeping. If possible, apply it at least 30 minutes before bedtime so it has time to fully absorb into your skin without being disturbed by any pillow movement during sleep! With that said, a skin care hack that we recommend is the importance of sleeping on your back to keep the skin wrinkle-free. Though sleeping on your side or stomach can be comfortable for some, this can cause compression wrinkles, also called, sleep wrinkles, or sleep lines.

Step 5. Wear Sunscreen Every Day

Sunscreen is a must for acne-prone skin, but it's also super important for any skin type. The sun's rays can damage your skin and cause hyperpigmentation that makes blemishes look worse. Simply put: You should wear sunscreen every day no matter what! Though moisturizer is an important step in your routine, the reason we don't recommend applying moisturizer right before sunscreen or foundation is that it can cause makeup to slide off your face easily during the day.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher on exposed areas of the body 15 minutes before going outside in the morning and reapplying every two hours (or after sweating or swimming). If you're spending more than two hours in direct sunlight, you should use an SPF 50+.

When choosing a sunscreen, opt for one labeled "non-comedogenic" or "oil free." This means that it won't clog pores so you won't get breakouts from wearing it!

Acne is common, and it's something that affects everyone at some time in their life. If you follow the steps above, you can keep your skin clear and healthy without much hassle. The most important thing is to remember that it takes time for your skin to get used to the new products you're using, especially when you use the acne skin care kit
