Self-care is very important to our overall well-being and an at-home spa moment is something we can all use to pep up our week, relieve stress, and relax our mind. Homemade face masks, sheet masks and soaks are wonderful ways to treat yourself and feel fancy on a weekday!
Sheet masks are a one-stop-shop to clear, radiant skin, right from your own bathroom. These masks are super-easy to use because all the skin-clearing, inflammation-reducing, and brightening ingredients are packed right in, you don’t have to mix or add anything to them – just apply and see results.
Dp Dermaceuticals sheet masks are made from a soft cloth that contours the shape of the face, allowing the mask to stay in place and provide a comfortable experience. The Sculptured Mask line includes a range of masks that help with common skincare conditions, as well as post-treatment solutions:
• Brite Lite 3D Sculptured Mask – pigmentation and discoloration issues. Brightens and lightens, reduces inflammation
• HylaActive 3D Sculptured Mask – ideal after microneedling procedure, provides a cooling sensation to reduce inflammation and deeply hydrates
In addition to sheet masks for the face, we also have a line for the eyes, hands, and décolletage, which all provide hydrating, anti-aging benefits, tackling dark spots, fine lines and sagging skin. Simply leave these sheet masks on for at least 15 minutes and allow any excess to absorb into the skin for an added bonus.
• HylaActive Neck & Décolleté Mask
• HylaActive Pampered Hands Mask
• R.E.R Rapid Eye Restore Mask
Don’t have any of our amazing sheet masks on hand? Not to worry! There isn’t much a good DIY face masks can’t cure. They are just as amazing as taking the stress out of a crappy day in the office as they are at banishing unsightly parched patches, minimizing pores, and zapping blemishes. The best part is, you probably have a lot of the ingredients most DIY masks require, right in your kitchen.
The below DIY mask is ideal for targeting acne and blemishes. To prepare, combine:
• 1 TBSP manuka honey – healing, bacteria-fighting
• 1 TSP turmeric powder – reduces redness and inflammation
• ½ TSP dead sea salt – cleans, reduces risk of infection
Mix well and aply to face with a clean brush. Remove with warm water after 15 minutes.
Together, the above ingredients launch a three-pronged attack on infection, irritation, swelling and excess sebum which can block pores and leads to spots and blackheads.
Tea tree oil is an effective natural home remedy for acne spot treatment because of its strong antimicrobial and antibacterial properties, but this oil can also be used for other at-home treatments such as a foot soak or scalp scrub. When used on the scalp, it removes product and dead skin cell build-up to open the follicles to allow moisturizing products to be more effective and can also promote hair growth.
Tea tree oil has a calming scent and when used in a foot scrub, it will transport your mind to a soothing spa and relieve tired, achy feet.
• Add 24 drops of tea tree oil and two TBSP carrier oil (coconut, avocado, etc.) to two TBSP sugar
• Mix well and apply to feet in a circular motion
• Rinse with warm water
A long soak in a hot bath will ease all your worries and erase your stress. Add Epsom salt – a natural anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant – to your bath water with a few drops of any essential oil – we like lavender for its calming properties – and let your stress melt away.
